Thomas J. Buckler

Tom is a litigation attorney at Law Firm GC, where he represents lawyers and law firms in complex litigation matters across Georgia. He focuses his practice on defending legal malpractice and ethics claims. This includes high-risk cases involving the inevitable disputes that arise when operating a firm and practicing law.

Tom represents clients ranging from solo practitioners to regional law firms. This includes disputes between partners, employees, former clients, other law firms, and businesses. Tom also represents other professional service providers who are facing malpractice allegations. He is involved in all phases of litigation from inception of a case through resolution, including drafting pleadings, discovery, motions, and trial.

Tom brings a practical and strategic approach to every case. He strives to give clients an informed and objective view of their disputes. This encompasses the good and the bad, as well as practical guidance on what to expect from litigation, both emotionally and financially. Tom believes this accomplishes two objectives. It allows the client to make an informed decision. Even more importantly, it puts the client and lawyer on the same page concerning the client’s goals and the case resolution strategy.

Tom is a proud native of Athens, Georgia. In 2015, he fulfilled his moral obligation of graduating from the University of Georgia with a degree in finance. In 2018, Tom received his J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where he graduated cum laude. Upon graduation, he moved to Atlanta and gained years of experience representing lawyers in various disputes. Tom was named a Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2025.

Tom lives in Sandy Springs, Georgia with his wife, Christine (also a lawyer), and children, William and Charlotte. Outside work, he enjoys playing golf, eating spicy food, catching up on old movies, and allowing the Georgia Bulldogs to raise his anxiety levels.
