Andrew “Andy” Eaton

Andy is a litigation partner at Law Firm GC, specializing in legal malpractice and ethics law. With nearly two decades of experience, he represents attorneys and law firms in a wide range of professional liability matters.

Andy concentrates his practice on high-risk cases involving the imminent disputes that emerge when running a firm and practicing law. His areas of expertise include complex litigation involving professional malpractice cases, bar grievances, abusive litigation suits, sanctions motions, anti-SLAPP litigation, and fee disputes. Andy also assists clients in partnership disputes, business divorces, and other fiduciary litigation, and he is considered an expert in legal malpractice and ethics law in Georgia.

The lawyers Andy most admires have earned respect by respecting others. He prides himself on using his skills to help people. His approach is to assist his clients in achieving two primary objectives. The first is to win their case. Second is peace of mind to navigate the litigation process without unnecessary stress.

Andy is a proud native of Athens, Georgia and is the son of a University of Georgia law professor. He earned his undergraduate degree from Washington and Lee University and graduated with honors in 2002. After teaching English in Southeast Asia for a year, Andy came home to Athens, where he graduated from the University of Georgia School of Law with honors. There he served and published as a member of The Journal of Intellectual Property Law, the oldest student-edited journal devoted exclusively to the field of intellectual property law. Andy has been named multiple times in Best Lawyers in America in legal malpractice.

Prior to joining Law Firm GC, Andy was a partner with Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith LLP, resident in the Atlanta office. Andy shares his professional insight by lecturing and writing on the topics of ethics, malpractice avoidance, abusive litigation, and case strategy. He is admitted to practice in Georgia.

Andy lives in Inman Park in Atlanta with his wife, Lynn (a nurse practitioner at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta) and two daughters, Anne and Vera. When he is not practicing law, Andy can be found trying new restaurants, traveling, skiing, attending concerts, and caring too much about Chelsea FC and the Georgia Bulldogs.
