My Focus
Law firms are businesses. My focus is to help law firms navigate the inevitable disputes that arise when running a business. Whether the dispute is informal in nature or a formal lawsuit, I want to help law firms resolve those disputes so they can focus on running and growing their businesses.
My Approach
From the start, plan for the end. Whatever the current situation is, it will change. Solid agreements, ongoing governance, and periodic assessment keep lawyers (i.e., business owners) prepared to make the best decisions for their business and themselves—even when circumstances are not ideal.
As a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA), I use Value Acceleration to help business owners and their team identify, protect, and increase the value in their businesses. By planning their “exit,” lawyers can align their business and personal goals, now and in the future
My Background
My focus and approach to the business of law have been formed by my business and transaction experience, helping business owners grow, pivot, and leave their businesses. I have worked with serial entrepreneurs and professionals phasing out of practice. I have seen easy transitions and ugly fights.
I received my law degree from Georgia State University College of Law. Before law school, I went to Georgia Tech (like my father and his father before him), earning a Master’s degree in International Affairs. I graduated from Belmont Abbey College with a Bachelor’s degree in English.
I am an Atlanta native who (vaguely) remembers the Braves’ first World Series win, the movie theater at Perimeter Mall, and the Delta sign downtown. When time permits, I enjoy international travel and British television. I also like F1 racing, and hope to make it to Silverstone someday—preferably behind the wheel.
